F.U.T.U.R.E. DINNER: a discussion that shapes the next era of sustainable fashion.
On April 10th, RUDOLF HUB 1922 hosted the F.U.T.U.R.E. DINNER, an exclusive event created in collaboration between RUDOLF and Première Vision. The event was attended by key figures from the fashion and textile supply chain, ranging from major industry names to the most innovative brands, alongside representatives from the academic world.
Hosting the event were Dr. Wolfgang Schumann, Chairman of RUDOLF, and Alberto De Conti, the conductor of the roundtable discussion. The event followed the format of a social sharing table, where topics such as collaboration, responsibility, and sustainability were openly discussed by the participants. It served as a think tank for the future of an industry grappling with some existential crises.
The energy of the evening and the exceptional collaboration between the two organising partners lay the foundation for the future development of this experimental project, which generated great interest and strengthened the shared commitment to building a responsible and sustainable economy in the fashion industry. This meeting stood out for the authenticity of the debates and its practical, constructive approach, creating a space for dialogue among the various voices within the value chain.
During the evening, participants engaged in a series of stimulating conversations, accompanied by a dinner prepared by Chef Crespi of the Pecora Nera restaurant. Each dish on the menu, made with locally sourced ingredients, was designed to strengthen the connection between sustainability and tradition, perfectly complementing the themes discussed during the presentations. The menu selection further emphasised the ecological approach of the event, combining taste and sustainability.
The evening‘s agenda featured discussions on the future of fashion and the need for collective action to address environmental challenges.
Among the highlights were RUDOLF‘s keynote speech titled „Closing the Loop or Closing Our Eyes. Ecodesign – A More Sensitive Approach?“ and the presentation by René Bethmann, VAUDE, titled „More than 13 Years Since the Launch of Greenpeace’s Detox Campaign – Where Do We Stand?“ which sparked extensive reflection. The topics covered included the opportunities offered by sustainable chemistry, the circular economy, and the need for eco-conscious design. Each presentation opened new avenues for thought, emphasising the importance of an original, cost-conscious, and, above all, collaborative approach.
The willingness for sincere and transparent dialogue from all attendees, including the leadership of the two hosting companies, led to a productive exchange that had a positive impact. F.U.T.U.R.E. DINNER proved to be a highly valuable moment, at a time when design and collective action are becoming crucial. The promise is to foster new meetings to continue this essential dialogue for the future of sustainable fashion.
Thanks to the active participation and passion of everyone involved, F.U.T.U.R.E. DINNER has proven itself to be an event with great potential to grow, evolve, and become a leading gathering in the world of responsible and sustainable fashion.
